CHAPS Equine Assisted Services is dedicated to serving our community through Equine Assisted Services (EAS). CHAPS is a safe place to learn, grow and heal.

Our Mission is to provide high quality equine therapies for youth, adults and veterans with physical, mental, social and/or psychological disabilities.

Our Vision is for CHAPS to be known as a place of empowerment for children, adults and veterans with special needs.

CHAPS Equine Assisted Services is dedicated to helping individuals in our community learn, grow and
heal through Equine Assisted Services. Our goal is to serve all who come to us. CHAPS works with
people with a variety of diagnoses; from autism to PTSD and many in between.

Upcoming Events
Youth Mentorship Program
Youth aged 12-15 will learn about horses, horsemanship and equine assisted services.
Time commitment is 2-3 hours per week. Students will be required to apply and interview
for the program. Students will also be required to submit a final project discussing what they
learned and how they think they may apply the skills learned in their future.
CHAPS Presents A Day at the Races! June 12, 2022 1pm
Sheridan County Fairgrounds
This year we are offering 1/2 mile and 1/4 mile races for standard riding horses, donkeys/mules and draft horses.
Come root for your favorite horse/rider combo. $5 gate fee. Place "bets" on your favorite for a chance to win great prizes.

Pony Prevention in Collaboration with UpRising - TBD
This is a children's program developed by CHAPS and UpRising to help youth understand key concepts
that can lower their risk of abuse and exploitation. Participants will take part in a 2.5 hour experience where they
will interact with horses and play fun games that build their skills and understanding of Consent, Healthy Boundaries
Healthy/Unhealthy Relationships and Identifying Red Flags.
